testimony

I am Emily. I grew up in an atheist family. However, I could sense the emptiness deep in my heart, which the atheism could never satisfy. I was eager to seek the purpose of life. I did not find the answer until I met a British lady who invited me to study the bible with her in 2011. She introduced to me why God exists, why there are lots of sufferings in this world. Interestingly, I realized that she was a Jehovah's Witness after I came to the U.S.. It is undeniable that this experience opened the door for my faith in Jesus Christ. Afterward, I came to study at the University of Cincinnati in 2012. From then on, I was busy with my life and school, so I did not seek God until 2013 I met two girls who came to me to invite me to join their bible study. So I started studying the bible with them and I got to know who Jesus is and Why he came to this earth to sacrifice himself on the cross. Gradually, I was more interested in Christ. One month after I studied the bible with them. I was persuaded to get baptized. Nonetheless, I did not exactly know about the meaning of baptism and the meaning of following Christ at that time. Later on, I quit that group and met two leaders of the International Christian Fellowship group, UCWF, who were the first one told me that the core of Christianity was to have a personal relationship with God. My knowledge of Christ and the bible and my faith has also been growing during those almost six years in that group. Nevertheless, I had confusion about my baptism and was still not quite sure about my salvation. I was also not wholeheartedly to God until God took away the relationship which I thought was the most significant thing to me at that time last year. Since then, I have truly understood that my Heavenly Father is the only joy and satisfaction of my life.
I am also thankful to God that the self-quarantine at home because of the Pandemic has provided me a wonderful opportunity to spend more time alone with God, I also thank God also for bringing me to the Primitive Baptist Church so that . Because of these things I have been through, I am certain that I have fully accepted that Jesus Christ was my only Savior and Lord. Therefore, I have decided to get baptized again here. Hence, I commit myself to Christ and his people.
