Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Parents should let their children make mistakes and let the latter learn from their own mistakes.
Some children trend to against what people ask them to do.
You must hear many parents complain about their children that the children never listen to them and never do what they ask their children to do. Some parents choose the methods of punishment. However, in my view, parents should allow their children to do mistakes and let them learn from what they did.
To begin with, I believe that children have ability to justify and adapt themselves from their own mistakes. Needless to say, the children learn fast and there is no doubt that they would response to problems that they experience perfectly. Give one of research publications for instance. Scientists did an experiment by asking parents to ask their children to pick up baby dolls from the backyard and see how the children respond. Consequently, the parents did not ask their children to do anything with the dolls and let the dolls sit the backyard. The scientist found out that after the dolls got dirty by rain and mud, the children learn what they should do and always put their toys back to their house without asking from their parents.
In addition, some children feel defended with their parents ask them to do things. Allowing the children to figure out the problems from their own mistakes will be a soft teaching method. For example, my friend’s son had aggressive behavior and always got defended when people asked him to do the right things. At school, he always fought with his classmates and never stopped causing troubles, even though his teacher punished him. Finally, his teacher decided to ask his friends stopped playing with him without noticing. He had not had any friends talk to him, he felt alone on that day. Surprisingly, after that day, he never caused any problem again with his friends again.
To sum up, personally, I believe that the best way of teaching is allowing the children to experience both positive and negative outcomes. They will accept what they have learned and optimize ways of thinking to themselves. Therefore, parents should not worry too much whether or not the children would get hurt from what they do but just keep eyes on them.
