The lecture discusses about the role of the camera phones and photography in the world of journalism. Whereas, the reading passage describes about the accessabilty of the photography in any place and any time due to the camera phones and the strong impact of it on the current society.

First of all, the professor states about the difference between the sophistication of the photography that is used in journalism than the photos taken by common people . However, he does not deny the threat posed to the photo journalism due to the photography by common people using the device as simple as the camera phone.

Secondly, the lecturer describes the disadvantage of the pictures taken by common people and added into news by stating that in journalism it is very important to consider the ethical issues those are involved in selecting which photos should be included and which should be excluded. Therefore, the photos by people often crosses the bounderies of ethical issues.

Finally, though according to the reading passage people use the phone at right times and right places by using the camera phones, nevertheless the photo journalism will be in high demand always due to the quality and special techniques used for the photography from the real situations. Hence, from the history of journalism it is clear that those pictures are still considered to be great because of the techniques and qualities of the pictures taken by professional people.
