Increase in Lab Hours
Science majors need more time in the lab. Every science course has 1 lab hour for every 3 hours in class. The university should change this to at least 2 lab hours for every 3 hours in class. Students develop the skills necessary to get a good job in the lab, and with such little time allotted for lab work, students are not going to be competitive in the job market when they graduate. Also, textbook material can be difficult to understand for students if it is not supported by hands on work in the laboratory.
