M: Hey Lisa, how are you?
W: I’m not too bad. But, my part-time job is starting to stress me out.
M: Why?
W: Well, I’ve been doing a really good job and my boss has noticed, which is great, but now he has this idea that I can do way more than I really can. He’s given me all these extra responsibilities and with exams coming up, I really don’t have the time or energy to do them all.
M: Hmm . . . have you thought about talking to some of your co-workers and asking them to help you out? I mean; you all work for the same company. I’m sure they wouldn’t mind helping you.
W: Uh . . . I don’t know about that. I wouldn’t feel so comfortable asking them for help. Besides, my boss might not like that I needed other people to help me do my job.
M: Really? I think it will impress your boss. It’ll show him that you always find a way to get the job done.
W: You might have a point.
M: Or, you could just talk to your boss and tell him that your workload is too big now that exams are coming up. I’m sure he’ll understand and reduce some of your responsibilities.
W: That doesn’t sound like a bad idea.
