What is your opinion?
In my opinion, it is better to watch movies to learn about a culture, because of these reasons:
First, watching movies takes less time than reading a book or finding people from a specific culture online. For instance, I watched a documentary about Torkmans, who live in north east of Iran and learned a lot about them in just 2 hours. To get that much information, I had to read a book for a day or two, or spend days talking to Torkman people, online.
Second, watching movies can be more informative than books or people. Because for example learning about people’s dialects from a book can be frustrating, but movies can show them easily. Also some people may not be enough informative about their own culture.
