I am a 1.5 generation Vietnamese-America. Growing up in Texas I was always conscious of the cultural differences between my friends and me. I believe the unique experience of having friends who are equally diverse in heritage (two in particular, one Mexican-American and one Arab-American), gives me the upper hand in understanding the need for cross-cultural awareness.
