Write a letter to your future roommate that lets her know you better
The moment was intense- the sun’s last rays shone through the glass , the fan buzzed over my head and the sheet crumpled as I fixated on my opponent’s face. I could see a grim expression and I knew that she felt lost. I had never won but this time I knew that I would. It was a simple UNO card game but we treated it like a battle. My friend considered herself to be an expert in the game But that day it was clear that I would win. I was ready to make my next me that she jumped up , pulled the bed sheet and scattered all the cards. The battlefield collapsed. My definite victory turned out to be draw. I narrowed my eyes and glared at her. I recalled all those games that she had easily won and all the times when she would laugh at me. However, I could not remember any time when I disrupted the game because I was losing .
And so it makes me sure that I am not a quitter. I never leave any race in the middles. Even though I feel that I might lose I make it a point to get to the finish line. When I joined my coaching classes in 9th grade, everyday felt like a struggle. My classmates were much better than I and the curriculum was too heavy. Earlier I felt confident and intelligent because of my school grades. But then I realized that there were many people who were diligent and intellectual. Even the subject Biology that I felt I had mastered turned out to broader than my expectations. Everyday I wished that it was the last day of the class. However, I did not leave . I increased my hours of study and level of effort . the results were slow to come. But I persisted and succeeded in making myself comfortable with the course . I was no longer at the bottom and I could match the speed. Had I quit at that time I would have never learn how to cope with changing environment or mange workload. Even though I lose many races I know that each one comes with a lesson. They show me my limits and push me further to lift my restricting bars. They take me to the edge of capacity and allow me to stretch further.
