Advantages of learning foreign language
Nowadays, in the integration trend, people use not only mother tongue but also foreign languages for different purposes. Therefore, learning other languages is really necessary for most people because of following benefits.
The most important advantage of learning at least one foreign language is that people can simply approach a huge source of valuable documents written in foreign languages which broaden their mind significantly. For example, basing on three major languages such as English, French and German, most academic books and papers are typed. Therefore, to understand these documents, readers must know these languages.
In addition, knowing at least one foreign language makes people find a job easily. Many well- paid jobs require employees know other languages, especially English. For instance, in my country, travel agents only employ fluently English speakers since everyday they have to communicate with tourists from all over the world. Hence, many graduated people take part in English courses to get the certificate which meet the company’s requirement before they apply to there.
Finally, learning at least one foreign language helps people acquire a wide knowledge of culture and custom of other nations in the world. A variety of documents written in foreign languages display a great deal of living aspects such as nature, society, culture and history of a lot of countries. If people understand these documents’ content, their mind can be broadened. They even feel comfortable when they travel or work abroad.
In conclusion, knowing at least one foreign language is necessary for everyone in studying, finding a good job and widening knowledge. Therefore, people should choose some foreign languages to learn before they become elders.
