Causes and effects of falling reading scores among children

In recent time, although children have to learn a lot, there is a significant decrease in their reading results. What are causes of this issue? And which effects do low reading scores bring on? This essay will answer these questions.
The first cause is that young people usually have a little time for reading books. Every day, they have to complete a huge number of exercises, take part in various physical activities and join clubs; therefore, they rarely do spend time on reading books. Moreover, there is a great deal of entertainment activities such as playing games online or watching movies, which attract much more strongly the children than reading books. In addition, many families and societies do not consider seriously for training children’s reading skill. Children have to study a lot, but there is a little time for practicing reading books in schedules. At home, parents are often busy with making a living, so they have no time for reading books with their children which can improve dramatically children’s reading ability.
With above causes of bad reading scores of children, this problem can result in several negative effects.
Firstly, the young cannot broaden their mind if they do not have good reading skill. Most valuable knowledge of all fields is displayed through books and magazines; hence, children will have narrow knowledge unless they are strongly passionate with reading books. Moreover, bad reading scores can affect negatively children’s studying results because they do not understand tasks which they do undertake. For example, a pupil is requested to tell a story which he read from a book; as a result, he cannot tell that story because they do not comprehend what the content is. Especially, children can get troubles in achieving their goals in the future because many goals require they have good reading skill such as gaining a scholarship or becoming a scientist.
To sum up, getting bad reading results derives from many causes such as lack of time for reading, superficial consideration of families and societies. This issue also leads to some serious effects. To improve reading skills of children, parents should instruct reading habits for their sons and daughters when they are babies.
