The reading proposes that vessels found near Iraq cannot be electronic batteries which produced electricity. However, the lecturer finds all the ideas dubious and presents some evidence to refute them all.
The author argues that due to the fact that there are no other electronic objects found with them that they could attach them for being electronic conductive. Conversely, the lecturer brings up the idea that it is true that nothing found with the batteries such as wire or other devices. The batteries are found by local people, not archeologists that are not trained people, then they do not recognize the metal device near the batteries .therefore, they might be overlooked either threw them away.
Furthermore, the reading passage holds the view that these batteries look like Seleucia cylinder used for holding scrolls, On the contrary, the professor underlines the fact that it is possible that these batteries originated from Seleucia, yet they might have been used for another purpose. When they got iron they produced electricity. In addition, copper used for other objects as well.
Finally, the reading asserts that the application of these batteries are useless since there is no device to use their electricity. In contrast, the speaker dismisses this issue due to the fact that these batteries may have been used for mild shocked. When someone touched them. Some may have been convinced people having magic power. Furthermore, these batteries used for healing. In modern medicine, it is used for relieving the pain. Therefore, in ancient time people used them for the same purpose.
