Contained in the line graph provided is data pertaining to the number of visitors went to and come from Britain by millions between 1979 and 1999, while the bar chart illustrates the most popular destinations that British people visited in 1999.
Overall, the trends of visits to and from Britain were upward during the given period, and there were 5 most common countries that attracted British people to visit.
With regard to the first graph, one sees a pattern of increase in the growth of number of visits. It is evident that the number of visits abroad by British residents rose gradually from just over 10 millions in 1979 to nearly 20 millions in 1984 and then climbed steadily to approximately 54 millions by the end of the period. There was a similar trend for number of visits to Britain as it grew moderately over the given period, jumping from precisely 10 millions in 1979 to about 35 millions in 1999. It is also worth noting that the number of British residents who went abroad exceeded the number of overseas residents who visited the UK by around 19 millions over the two decades.
Turing to the next chart, there were two groups of popular countries visited by the UK people, one contained nations that had more than 5 millions visits in 1999 and the other one included countries that showed lower 5 millions visits in the same year. Apparently, France and Spain belonged to the first group since there were around 9 millions British visitors went to Spain and well over 10 millions visited France, making it became the most attractive destination in 1999. Included in the second group were USA, Greece and Turkey where attracted only about 4 millions, 3.5 millions and 2.5 millions UK citizens, respectively.
