Some say that it would be better if the majority of employees worked from home instead of travelling to a workplace every day.
Do you think the advantages of working from home outweigh the disadvantages?
Nowadays, a variety of approaches towards working habits become widespread. In fact, there are some who support the idea that distant working, to be more precise, work from home without going to the workplace must be implemented. In my opinion, the advantages of this notion outweigh the disadvantages but before drawing a quick conclusion it needs to be discussed.
Undeniably, today one of the most serious problems of the world is traffic congestion due to the fact that it causes air pollution. Therefore, if majority of people will work at their own home, it means that the number of people who use public transport, own cars etc. will be remarkably reduced. Furthermore, it will also affect the time they spend on the roads, and will arise an opportunity to use their time effectively. For instance, during the time they used to spend on going and returning home they can concentrate on their job, hence to my mind, it will positively affect the productivity of their work.
Moreover, workers will not feel the pressure on them and can do their work when they are available. Finally, the most indispensable point is that, this implementation allows them to be engaged in different types of work at the same time, which helps them to earn much more money.
On the other hand, we cannot completely deny the adverse effects of this opinion such as preventing socializing. For example, in case of distant working people will spend most of their time sitting at home or if their work relates to computers it will gradually decrease the level of eyesight or will cause other health problems.
To summarize, although some damages are inevitable, to my mind, distant working is the most effective choice for both people and the society.
