Nowaday animal experiments are widely used to develop new medicines and to test the safety of other products. Some people argue that these experiments should be banned because it is morally wrong to cause animals to suffer, while others are in favor of them because of their benefits to humanity.
Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Some people think that animal used at laboratory should be prohibited due to morally reason. On the other hand, this action gives many advantages for human related to they are used to test the safety of chemical products.
Today, many laboratories use animal such as mice and hamster to help people researching new products. While, this activity is morally wrong to cause animals to suffer due to their genetics and physics are changed. In addition, the genetic form of human and animal is different. So that, the changes affecting animal would not as the same human reaction to the chemical products. The experiment data would not precisely 100% valid. Moreover, this activity might generate new problems in the future in that experiment failed. Last but not least, people should protect the animals, do not make them suffer, or even make them rare or extinct.
However, in different viewpoint, there are some benefits from the animal testing. First, it is very useful to help people in testing new chemical products before it is used by the human. Besides, there are some animals, which have the same genetics with human so that it can be used in the experiments. Furthermore, the scientists could breed the animals as many as needed.
To sum up, the animal testing has both positive and negative impacts. But, to minimise the side effect, the solutions offered are people should take the responsibility in it usage by limiting the amount of animals that are used and make a priority when are the suitable times to use the animals in the experiments.
