The passage and the lecture discuss human presence on venus. The author of the passage present three reasons to demonstrate that human could not be survived in venus harsh condition. However, the lecturer believes none of the reasons could strongly refute human presence on venus.
The author argues that the atmospheric pressure at venus is much higher than the pressure at our home. therefore any landed spacecraft on there have been destroyed. The lecturer argues against this reason and believes that a station can establish 50 kilometers above venus surface, which pressure is equal to earth's pressure. As a result, higher pressure cannot be a restrictive factor for human life on venus.
Furthermore, the reading passage holds the view that no water's storage and oxygen existence on venus surface. this indicates that these must be supplied from earth to venus. Nevertheless, the author illustrates that these vital elements can be compound of atmospheric components, which can find on venus atmosphere, like as carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and sulfuric acid. Consequently, the absence of water and oxygen is not an obstacle to establishing a permanent station on venus.
Finally, the reading asserts that much more of sunlight is reflected back into space by the atmosphere or thick clouds layer. therefore human could not produce electricity of light. The lecturer opposes this point by explaining that in the established station could get light passed through the atmosphere and emitted by clouds. Accordingly light gets at the station to power machines and devices.
this claim which life is not possible on other planets like as venus does not possess a strong support in order to be acceptable.
