Some people think that the best way to reduce crime is to give longer prison sentences. Others, however, believe there are better alternative ways of reducing crime.
Discuss both views and give your opinion.
dealing with crime is always a difficult task. there will forever be a difference of opinion, like the above said topic. Whether to increase a prison term or find other solutions in tackling criminal activities all depends on the nature of act.
some of us are of the view that if we increase the tenure of sentences, we would be able to reduce crime. when we are aware by doing this thing we will land in a bigger term in jail, probably one might not do the illegal activity. Thus reducing the menance in the society. it can be very effective, when the message is spread and everyone are aware of the circumstances of their action. Campaigns should be done inculcating all the dire punishments they can come across for comitting a henious crime. While on the other hand people are of the opinion that there are even more effective methods to deal with the same. According to few the best way to tackle this would be educating all. First crime never pays and any aforementioned act will only to lead to punishment which might hamper an individuals growth in professional and personal life. Many believe instead of raising the capital punishment it will be better if we start investing in more safety. Such as installing cctvs at all places, making it mandatory to have a community gathering in a town hall or any appropriate location, to reinstill the importance of a safe and secure nieghbouhoods. To teach youngsters whatever means of corruption will move in only putting them behind bars.
I would foresee a better and safer enviornment rather than punishing anyone. How it can be applied is by having a clear statement or commitment by local authorites that any infringement would only head towards a serious action. inculcating through media, advertisements are a few methods that can be adopted. Unfortunately if it so happens that an individual has done some infringement he or she will be accountable for their deeds.
