The bar charts illustrate about the number of honey-bee colonies and honey production in the United States of America from 1970 to 2010.
In 1970, there were 4000000 colonies which produced 130000 tonnes honey. The bee colonies went up to 4.2 millions, in ten years. In 1990, they fell significantly to 3.5 millions. This decreasing happened continually until 2010. Their contrast was about more than 700000 each ten years. The peak of honey-bee colonies happened in 1980, during those 40 years.
On the other hand, honey production fell exponentially to 110000 tonnes in 1980. It was quite surprise, while honey-bee colonies increased whereas their production decreased. In 1990, honey bee production rose to 120000 tonnes. Twenty years later, their production fell again to 70000 tonnes in 2010.
In a nutshell, honey-bee colonies fell surprisingly from 1980 to 2010 where their production were fluctuated, so they seemed to be independent to their production between 1970 and 1990.
