Youngsters nowadays are involved in many crimes. What are the causes of this problem? In your opinion, how can we reduce youth crime rates?
In the meantime, criminal behavior has been increased among youth. Youth crime is primarily the outcome of multiple conditions such as; poverty and family violence. In my opinion, early discipline to younger children is the first way to minimize adolescents crimes, then comes the role of the government.
First and foremost, I am of the belief that harsh parenting styles is the main cause of young offenses. Fathers and mothers, who are strict and use violent, create aggression in their dependents. In other words, youngsters will never assault people unless their parents have not treated them violently. For example, spanking and yelling at a child will teach them that this is the only mean to take their rights and others rights as well. Thus, married couples should attend classes on how to rear toddlers and juniors in order to become productive and fruitful future generations.
Secondly, crimes of teenagers are attributed to financial problems. Countries that suffer from poverty do not have good education system. Although criminals are not necessary be uneducated individuals , however, most of the crimes are committed due to lack of education. Moreover, unemployment issues leads to a rise in the crime rates. Unemployed youth need to run their households and when the do not get enough income, they may get involved in criminal activities to provide their families. To illustrate, according to a research paper, theft and murder in the Caribbean are common among young men whose ages are around the twenties. Here therefore, comes the role of stakeholders to offer job opportunities for the graduates in order to reduce crime within the country.
In conclusion, there are many reasons for committing crimes amongst the youth and family is the one who can set the foundation in their children to become better men in the future. In addition, if the authorities solved unemployment and poverty issues, violent rates would be reduced.
