The first chart compares the number of marriage and divorce of US citizen from the year 1970 to 2000. The second chart illustrate the marital status of adult Us residence in the year 1970 and 2000.
Overall, it is clear that the number of marriage was higher in comparison to Divorce over the 30 years periods. Additionally, divorce accounted for the lowest percentage in both years.
The number of marriage begains at 2.5 million in the year 1970 and was stable for 10 years period and decreased 0.5 million up to 2000 which was exactly 2 million. However, divorce rate was increased almost up to 1.5m but again decreased to the same level in 2000 respectively.
Looking more closly to the second chart, married was at the higher position which was 70 percent in 1970 compared to never married and widowed of almost 15% and less than 10%. For instance, Divorced rate was up to 1% in the year 1970. In 2000, married rate decreased slightly at 60% and never married, widowed and divorced was much lesser than married adult americans.
