The bar chart below shows the percentage of unemployed graduates, aged 20-24, in one European country over a two-year period.
The depicted bar chart provides us with some statistical information about rates of graduate employment by gender, aged 20-24, in a particular European country. It is clearly seen that in October 2009, the number of both male and female unemployed graduates reached a peak at 22% and 14%, respectively.
Analyzing the chart more carefully it can be revealed that on the premise of the given period the percentage of unemployed rate was only 10% and 8%, accordingly which was followed by a slight decrease over two quarters. In October 2008, it increased significantly although the recovery was short-lived.
Referring to the graph, in the next two quarters the percentage of male unemployed graduates remained stable at just over 11%. Simultaneously, the pattern for female counterparts was different which showed a slight decrease to 2%. In July 2009, unemployment rate of male graduates fell down but the trend was the complete reverse when it comes to the other gender it grew more than 5 times.
To sum it up, over the period as a whole, the percentage of unemployment rates for men surpasses female ones.
