The charts below show the proportions of British students at one university in England who were able to speak other languages in addition to English, in 2000 and 2010.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant
The pie charts compare the percentages of British students at a university in England who could speak foreign languages in two distinct years, 2000 and 2010.
Clearly, British students have taken an interest in languages over the decade since the percentage of those who could not speak any other languages fell by 10 percent. Also, Spanish remains the most popular choice as a foreign language among them.
Less than a third percent of British students were able to speak Spanish as a foreign language in 2000 but the percentage rose by 5 percent in 2010. In contrast the popularity of French as a foreign language has declined and reduced from 15 to 10 percent. However, the percentage of those who were keen on learning German remained the same and stood at 10 percent.
While the percentage of those speaking any other languages other than English dropped by 10 percent, the percentage of those speaking two other languages rose from 10 to 15 percent in the given period. Also, those who could speak another language not listed in the pie chart rose by 5 percent.
