The two pie charts compare the consumption’s level in five types of energy, namely oil, natural gas, coal, hydroelectric power and nuclear power in America in two years 1980, 1990.
Overall, it is obvious that Americans preferred consuming natural powers to using new energies.
As can be seen clearly from the charts that, the proportion of nuclear power and coal consumers increased slightly .The figures of coal users rose from 22% to 27%. Whereas 10% of americans chose nuclear power in 1990, this number increased by more than 5% compare to 1980.
The data of oil and natural gas declined after 10 years. From ranking at the top by taking up 42% in 1980, the percentage of oil consumers decreased to 33% in 1990 while the proportion of natural gas users only dropped 1% and occupied 25% in 1990.
Finally, hydroelectric power had the consumers the least, it account for 5% and still remained in the whole period.
