The two graphs show the main sources of energy in the USA in the 1980s and the 1990s.
Write a report for a university lecturer describing the changes which occurred.
The diagrams provided detail the primary sources of energy in the USA over the course of a decade. Notably, the oil sector experienced the largest shifts, while alterations in other sectors were minor in comparison.
In 1980, as depicted by the pie chart, oil held the predominant share at 42 percent, nearly accounting for half of the total. Other energy sources such as natural gas and coal were somewhat less prevalent, representing 26 and 22 percent respectively. The least popular types of energy sources were nuclear and hydroelectric power, each constituting less than 10 percent.
By the 1990s, the landscape had slightly evolved. Despite a decrease of 8 percent, oil remained the primary energy source. The popularity of natural gas and coal remained fairly stable, changing by only 1 percent in comparison to the previous decade. Nuclear and hydroelectric power sources continued to be less favored, with shares of 10 and 5 percent respectively
