Dear Tom,
I am writing in order to express my apologies for the noise from my house and also explain the causes for your understanding.
We are doing some extension for my house as my parents have planned to move in and live with us in the next month. As this extension is quite substantial with a tight schedule, the works were sometime carried out over the lunchtime which may disturb your rest. I deeply apologize for this inconvenience.
In order to minimize this trouble, I have asked my general contractor to enhance the progress and get the works done as soon as possible. In addition, I have advised the workers to avoid doing their work over the lunchtime so I hope, it would mitigate the risk of causing nosy sound as much as possible.
I am sorry again for this problem and your understanding in this matter are much appreciated.
