The graph below shows the percentage change in the nubmer of international students graduating from universities in different Canadian provinces between 2001 and 2006. (rewrite)
The chart provides information regarding a comparison in percentage of overseas graduate students from universities based on regions in Canada between 2001 and 2006.
In general, the percentage of international students who graduated in different Canadian provinces in 2006 was considerably higher than those in 2001, although only the proportion in Alberta showed the reverse.
According to the graph, in 2001 there were just about 3-7 percent pupils obtaining degrees from abroad per each region in Canada. However, the next five years, the proportion of the overseas pupils were about 3-8 percent higher than those in 2001.
A more detailed look at the graph shows that both in 2001 and 2006, New Brunswick made a record as a province in Canada with the highest overseas graduate students, 7 percent and nearly 12 %, followed by Nova Scotia and Quebec coming in second and third position. While Manitoba, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Ontario were quite similar in the quantity of graduate scholars over a 5-year period, Alberta was a slight different. Foreign students who graduated in Alberta Clolleges decreased slightly to bit more than 4 %, which was the lowest proportion from all Canada cities in 2006.
Interestingly, in 2006 universities in British Columbia officially allowed international students to graduate with more than double its percentage in 2001, from just above 4 % to around 10%. It was the highest increase among the other regions in Canada.
