It can be seen that the number of marriages and divorces have a downward trend from 1980 to 2000.
The marriage’s number in the America have the same amount, at 2.5 million in 1970 and 1980, while the number of divorces stood at 1 million in 1970 and went up around 0.3 million in 1980. Although the number of marriages and divorces decrease in twenty-year until 2000, marriage’s number was higher than the number of divorces in the America.
Moreover, another chart shows the number of married adult in 1970 and 2000 was the highest, at 70 percent and 59 percent. Furthermore, others marital status such as never married adult, widowed, and divorces were only on average over or below 10 percent in the same year.
In short, marital status as married adult and the average of the number in 1970 was higher than in 2000. However, number of married adult always higher than others marital status.
