The table below shows the worldwide market share of the notebook computer market for manufacturers in the years 2006, 2007 and 2014
The table compares the percentages of market share possessed by different laptop brands all over the world in three different years (2006, 2007 and 2014).
Overall, HP was by far the greatest market share holder in the notebook computer sector and most of the main corporations increased their market share except for Fujitsu and other unnamed companies.
In 2006, HP took an overwhelming place over other businesses at 31.4%, which outdistanced the runner-up being Dell by approximately a half of that. It then retained the leading position until 2014 at 34.25%, being the greatest number achieved by any rivals. Together with Dell being at 26.12% in 2014, which was about 10% higher than the initial figure, they accounted for more than a half of market share in the industry.
Unlike the two top brands, Samsung suffered from a loss in 2007, from 11.6 to 10.7; however, it managed to capture over 14% global market share after 8 years. Toshiba and Lenovo had around 6% of share in 2006 and increased sedately after 8 years while the least significant holder Fujitsu saw a slight decline from 4.8 to 3.1%. All other brands possessed a considerable market share in 2006 at 22.8% but plummeted to only 7.11% in 2014.
