The chart illustrates the number of British university students (graduates and postgraduates) did after completing education and not opting into permanent work in the year 2008.
Overall, it is clear from the chart that maximum undergraduates from the UK opted to go for further studies. Additionally, minimum number participated in voluntary services. Regarding the UK postgraduate students, large number were observed choosing to do further studies and part-time work. Moreover, less PG students opted to provide voluntary services as compared to graduate students in the given period.
On the one hand, in 2008 an upward trend was noted among graduates pursuing further studies (29,665). Focusing on temporary employment, 17,735 students were noted doing it. In addition, almost similar trend was observed for undergraduate learners remaining unemployed at 16,235 in 2008. However, a minimum of 3,500 students opted for voluntary work.
On the other hand, the number of PG learners showed an upward trend in choosing further studies at 2,725. Looking at the part-time employment 2,535 students enrolled in doing it and 1625 PG remained unemployed. In contrast, only 345 students chose to participate in voluntary services in above mentioned period.
