According to the reading passage, the author claims that there are several solutions which help birds to distinguish the glass and avoid hitting them. However, the lecturer entirely challenges these solutions and refuses them one by one respectively.
First of all, the professor casts doubt the first solution which made by the author that replacement of regular glass with one-way glass which is transparent in only one direction will help birds to not fly through the glass, the lecturer believes that the surface of one-way glass acts like mirror so it will as bad as regular glass because the wouldn't distinguish the real sky and tree and reflection of sky and tree. Thus it wouldn't be a favorable solution.
Secondly, the author in the reading asserts that setting up the colorful line in the regular window which has several opening which will help birds to distinguish the window and avoid a collision. Nevertheless, the speaker rebuts the solution, he points out that these opening which is small holes acts like the regular window because birds tend to pass through from that holes, so they have to build this hole very small which will make the room so dark and dim.
Finally, the professor rejects the claim which made in the reading passage regarding creating an artificial magnetic field that works like a compass which will help birds to avoid from the strike, the speaker says that research shows that birds only use this ability when they are traveling long-distance so they don't use this ability in short-distance. Thus, creating an artificial magnetic field is kind of useless.
