Your local hospital has advertised for people to do unpaid work helping at the hospital. You would like to do some work at the hospital in your free time.
Write a letter to the hospital. In your letter
explain why you would like to do unpaid work at the hospital
say what type of unpaid work you would be able to do
give details of when you would be available for this work
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing in response to your advertisement asking for volunteers to work on non-pay basis for assistance at the hospital. I intend to offer my services for this cause.
Currently I am working part-time and have spare time for such activities. By nominating for this purpose, I will be able to contribute to the society. It would be pleasing to know that my small gesture can go a long way in putting smile to someone’s face.
I have a certificate in nursing which I acquired along with my college degree. Through this certification course I am equipped with the basic standard operating procedures for some common medical related activities. If required I can separately send a list of medical procedures that I am certified to perform. I am also adept at using computer and would like to help in any office or administration tasks.
I am available every Tuesday and Thursday. You can also assign me to a job on Friday afternoon. My weekends are currently reserved for some other activities and hence I will not be available on Saturday and Sunday.
I look forward to your response.
Yours faithfully
Tarun Goyal
