Birth rates in China and the USA from 1920 to 2000
The line graph illustrates changes in the levels of Birth rates in China and the USA from 1920 to 2000. Overall, it can be seen that, despite some fluctuations, over the period as a whole, the levels of birth rates fall fell in all two countries. Overall, the birth rate of the USA is higher than China’s birth rate especially after 1950 but the birth rate of both countries followed a similar trend.
In 1920, the number of birth rates in the USA was at 11. After that, 1920 to 1940 saw a fluctuation to 12 in the birth rates. Next, the number of birth rates plunged to a low of 4 in 1945. After that, the figure of China increased dramatically to 15 in 1950. Next, it steadily falls for the following year, but then increased gradually to 8 and the end at 7. Beginning the period at just 10 in China. However, it rose dramatically to 15 in 1935, after that it dropped dramatically to 5. It remained stable for the following years, but then there was a sudden increase with the rate reaching a peak of 20 in 1950 and then China saw a more moderate falls fall at 4 over the period.
