Dear John,
I am writing to inform you that I am resigning from my role as IELTS trainer. My last day of work will be December 24th.
I have decided that I would like to return to the Computer field and have been offered a job as a Software Engineer in an MNC. However, while I am extremely happy to be starting this new phase of my career, I am also sad that it means having to leave the New English School.
Of course, I would like to thank you for all the support you have shown me during my initial time at the school. If you hadn’t been there at the beginning to help me with the lesson planning, I don’t know what I would have been done. I very much appreciate it.
I do need a favor from you in the form of a reference letter. As per the policy of the new company, I have to bring the reference letter to them from the head of the previous company. So, can you please write down one for me? Also, please include my achievements and decision making skills in that letter.
Once again, many thanks for all the support you have given me over the last few years.
Yours sincerely,
Steve
