Animal Extinction
Human population is growing with an unbelieveably fast rate. Nowadays, human being takes up more space for building homes and cities which causes great amounts of pollution in the habitats of all animal species. In other words, humans are now responsible for causing changes in the environment that hurt animals and plant species. Some human activities such as illegal hunting, cutting down trees, etc. take resources and habitats from plants and animals. In fact, human activity often changes or destroys the habitats that plants and animals need to survive. On the other hand, some people believe it is more important to pay attention to human needs than to endangered animals.
Humans have drastically increased the rate of endangered species’ extinction through their roles in deforestation. In other words, deforestation causes big changes in the ecosystem. In fact, it took a lot of time for all animal species to adjust themselves to the ecosystem and their habitats. Besides, these rapid changes in the ecosystem caused by humans are not in proportion with the adjustment rate of animals to these massive and destructive conversions. As a consequence, more species which have an important role in the ecosystem will disappear.
Some people think extinction is a normal phenomenon which has been occurring in nature since a billion years ago. However, some animals are endangered because of a combination of natural and man-made causes. This type of extinction is much more critical compared to natural extinction. As an illustration, if human beings’ exigencies have negative effects on the ecosystem of bees, the side effects of this extinction are beyond belief. In other words, it is true that the extinction of bees would mean the end of humanity. As a result, an imbalance in nature and human needs will cause the extinction of human beings.
In conclusion, some people think human being’s exigencies such as farming, housing, etc. are more important than saving endangered species. Conversely, we must think ahead and have respect for nature’s rules. Remember, the extinction of an apparently annoying insect such as the honeybee will cause the extinction of us.
