The flow chart illustrates the process in which glass bottles are recycled. Overall, there are three phases involved in the recycling process.
Prior to the actual processing of the glass bottles, it is necessary for the recyclers to collect them from consumers. The bottles are then transported to the cleaning plant where they are washed with high pressurized water and then classified according to colors into three categories: green, brown and clear. At this point, the cleaned bottles are forwarded to a recycling plant and further conveyed into a furnace. Being subjected to high temperature, the crashed glass is melted into liquid.
The recycled liquid glass, together with new liquid glass, is subsequently poured into a mold to make new glass bottles. In the third and final phase, the brand new bottles are filled with various kinds of liquid before distributed to supermarkets and ready for consumers. In this way, a cycle is completed and a new one is to be started.
