tpo 37integrated task

The reading passage discusses several criticisms about the turtle excluder device, incorporated in nets, which allows turtles to escape from the net in which trapped through a passage. However, the lecturer finds the ideas dubious and casts doubt on the reasons proposed by the reading passage.
First, the author argues that the number of turtles caught by each shrimper is rare, So it is not cost-effective for shrimpers to use TED device which helps not only turtles but also shrimps to run away from the net. Conversely, the lecturer brings up the idea that if we take all boats into account, it will lead us to the fact that thousands of turtles are endangered every time. Thus, it will cause harm to the turtle population, which is already rare and scarce.
Furthermore, the reading passage holds the view that alternative methods can be used for saving these species, for example, enforcing the time limit, which shrimpers can keep their nets under water. On the contrary, the professor underlines the fact that since the number of shrimpers is high, it is not possible to monitor each boat in the sea to identify whether they are following the time limit rule. It is more efficient for them to use TED and check each boat before going for the catch.
Finally, the reading passage asserts that as some kinds of turtles have large bodies, the current TED device is not appropriate for helping them, and they will trap in the net. In contrast, the speaker dismisses the issue due to the fact that if in some areas this problem occurred, they can modify the TED's design and use the larger one, So the TED still will have its functionality.
