The two provided pie charts compares the proportion of communication methods used in 1962 and in 1982.
It is clear that letter was the most popular way of contact which accounted for 50% in 1962. However, the figure dropped dramatically to only 10% in 1982. After 20 years, letter was no longer a favorite choice of communication by people.
On the other hand, there was a significant rise in the ratio of computer and phone users. The percentage of people choosing computer was 30%, doubling the number in 1962. Meanwhile, the proportion of phone also surged during this period, starting at 35% in 1962, and reaching 60% in 1982 to become the dominant kind of communication among three.
Overall, we can see an impressive jump in the portion of people using phone and computer to communicate over this period. Whereas, letter has soon became an obsolete type of exchanging information.
