A close friend is coming to visit your hometown. He/she asked you for advice for things to do in your hometown and the surrounding area.
Write a letter to your friend. In your letter….
• Ask for more details about your friend's plan
• Suggest some places to visit and things to do in your hometown
• Tell your friend about food or drinks he/she should try during his/her stay
Dear Suvro,
Great to hear you are coming for a visit in Dhaka! I am looking forward to showing you around.
How long are you planning to stay here? Also, is there anything, in particular, you want to do while you are here? By the way, if you haven’t booked a place to stay yet, you are welcome to crash on my couch.
You should definitely set aside some time to explore Jamuna Future Park which is the biggest shopping mall in our country. Of course, you can visit the main sights like Ahsan Monjil, National Museum and so on, but it’s also fun to wander around the little streets and alleys where you can get the flavor of the city dwellers. There are also interesting shops and cafes dotted around.
Have you tried traditional Bengali foods before? If not, you are really in for a treat. The street food items are amazing, but it’s also worth trying classic dishes like beef chap- a kind of spicy roasted beef. You can get some tasty fresh fruit drinks too, and they are generally pretty affordable.
Let me know your plan and I’ll see you soon.
Bye for now,
Jakir
