The reading and the passage are indicating advantages and disadvantages of teamwork; in other words, they look at teamwork from their view; both of them are trying to illustrate their point of views about doing an affair individually or in a group. Although passage emphasizes a team will be more successful, the professor has another view. In his perspective, its drawbacks are more than when someone performs anything individually.
To begin with, the passage alludes to a team will be more high-powered and speedy due to their members' ability which will be shared among others. On the other hand, the professor believes when you assign responsibilities to a group, some of the members do not participate in making decisions and putting the team in progress path. they are just as a 'free ride' who want to gain from the probable success of their team. If so, there is a cruelty to real contributors' rights because they play an important role in succeeding for their team but prosperity is just for the team, not the active members particularly.
In the second place, the passage claims that participating in making decisions give a satisfactory feeling to the group members who are working on their own optional work, not an obligatory one. but the professor asserted that making decisions in some groups last a long time by reason of their conflicts which make achieving a consensus so difficult.
last but not least, the passage alleges that a group is a place where the members have an opportunity to shine and affect decision-making; however, the professor states that in group decision-making, there are some people who are so influential. when they disagree with a project or a way chosen by group members, that project or way will omit from group plan despite the fact that some members have another view and believe they should keep on their trying.
