The pie charts demonstrate the explanations why people prefer going to work by bike or car. Overall, the predominant reasons why bicycle is used to travel to work is for health fitness and reducing environmental issues, whereas the most common reason for driving choice is its comfort.
It is very clear that the main reasons behind travelling to office by bike are health fitness and the effort decreasing pollution, both of these two causes command 30% of total figure. Other three reasons which are parking issues, financial problems and speed comparing to car equally represent approximately from 12% to 15%.
In the car supporter’s perspective, the main reason why they enjoy driving to work is the comfort it brings back to them. The proportion of people supporting for comfort predominate among other four reasons at 40%. Standing at the second place is the distant problems, there are 21% of people believe that the length of the road leading to their work office effects their driving decision, this quantities is half of the highest-rated reason. The percentage of other three explanations which are the speed, safety and carrying properties similarly make up 14%, 11% and 14% of the total quantity, respectively. Coincidentally, the percentage of people who concede that the reason of choosing car is its faster speed comparing with cycling is approximate with the figure for intense opinion, at about 14%.
