Before 1971, the percentage of households in rented ones showed an declining tendency from its climax of approximately 77% to half of the whole people, whereas the others increased gradually from almost 24% to 50% ,coinciding the former group.
After 1971 ,the percentage of renting accommodation dropped continuously to nearly 32% in the following 30 years until it rebounded to 36% more or less in 2011, while the people inclined to buy houses stayed the growing trend till 2001,reaching peak point closing to 70%.Obviously, the number of this group jumped about 64%.
Besides, the number of the above two groups was equal in 1971 .
Overall, the percentage of people renting houses showed an decreasing tendency, though it recovered in 2011. By contrast,
those who opted for buying kept growing except the decline in 2011.
