The chart below illustrates the amount of water used for various functions in six areas of the universe.
Overall, more water was channeled into agriculture in all countries involved in the survey except North America and Europe who used more of their water for industrial activities. The reverse was the case for water utilised domestically, because Africa, Central Asia and South East Asia respectively used less water for this reason than North America, South America and Europe.
Central Asia exhausted most of their water (88%) on agricultural procedures, It was also noted that Africa and South East Asia channeled almost the same quantity (84% and 81% respectively) on this purpose. While there was a dramatic decline in the use of water agriculturally in North America and Europe (13% and 15% respectively).
On the other hand, North America and Europe spent more of their water on industrial activities (48% and 53% respectively) when compared to other regions who used minimal amount of their water industrially with a maximum of 12% being used for industrial works
