Overall, Wales had the highest percentage of the UK’s ageing population in 1985 and prediction for 2035, while Northern Ireland displayed the lowest percentage in both sectors.
A glance at the chart provided reveals something that the population aged 65 and over in England was same the percentage in the UK in the year of 1985, at 15%, whereas Wales topped at over 15% at the same time. Certainly, this period which also described two lowest percentage of ageing population were Scotland and Northern Ireland, although the rate of Scotland was merely higher than of Northern Ireland, with over 10% and nearly 15% respectively. Not surprisingly, people still predict Wales will by far the highest percentage of all sectors in 2035 (over 25%, which will compare to 25% of the second highest in Scotland. By contrast others will be same the percentage, including England, Northern Ireland and the UK, at nearly 25%.
