Recycling proportion from 1982 to 2010
Materials like paper, cardboard, glass containers, aluminium cans and plastics had been recycling from long back in this particular country. Though recycling of papers, cardboards and glass containers was existing before 1982, the recycling of aluminium cans began in 1982 and that of plastics started in 1986. All the time, the most recycled materials are papers and cardboards. Glass containers are second in percentage of the materials that were recycled. Plastics were least recycled.
The percentage of plastics having been recycled has shown an increasing nature from the time the recycling have started. The percentage has increased to 10% in a span of 24 years. Recycling of aluminium cans increased by a good proportion. It was only 5% in 1982, which became 45% in 2010.
Earlier when the recycling of plastics and aluminium cans was nill or little the percentage of glass containers being recycled was near 50%. The percentage showed a reducing nature till 1986 and became 40%. However, it started increasing after 1986 and reached 60% by 2010. The percentage of papers and cardboards being recycled had been more than 60% in the period of 1982 to 2010. It was increasing before 1982 when the recycling of plastics and aluminium cans were not started. It reduced in the period of 1982 to 1986. There was a rise of 15% in 4 years after 1986. But, it started decreasing from 1990.
