The table below shows the average hours and minutes spent by UK males and females on daily activities
The graph illustrates the average amount of time spent on daily routines by UK men and women.
Overall, it is obvious that both men and women spend most of their time on sleeping and doing all the entertainment activities. Besides, it takes women more time to do housework and take care of children than men while men spend more time on working and studying.
First, it takes men and women 8.04 and 8.18 hours to sleep respectively. Additionally, the number of hours used for all the leisure activities by men is 5.25 hours and this number for women is 4.53. Next, men say they spend 1.32 hour a day on travelling and 1.22 hour is said by women.
Men spend 3.45 hours everyday for their working and studying but only 2.26 hours is spent by women on the same purposes. In contrast, 3 hours is spent on doing housework by women, which is 2 times higher than men with 1.41 hour a day. Similarly, while women use 0.32 hour for taking care of children, men spend only 0.15 hour. Finally, it takes men 0.13 hour to do sports and this figure for women is 0.07 hour a day.
