The line graph provides some information about the average emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) per person in four different countries during the period from 1967 to 2007.
Overall, it is obvious that the carbon dioxide which was produced in italy and Portugal increased rapidly while the figures in united kingdom and Sweden went down over the 40-year period.
It can be seen from the line graph that the average emissions of carbon dioxide of Italy and Portugal showed the similar trend. From around one tonnes of carbon dioxide which was produced in Portugal in 1967, this figure increased rapidly to approximately 5.5 tonnes in 1997 and then went up slightly between 1997 and 2007. over the same period, there was a significant growth in the carbon dioxide <span style="font-size: 19.36px;">emissions</span> in Italy. It increased dramatically from more than 4 tonnes in 1967 to above 6 tonnes in 1977. By following two decades, this number went up steadily to about 7.5 tonnes and remained the same figure over the last 10-year period.
over the same period, the highest average emissions of carbon dioxide which was produced is in united kingdom. However, this number fell sharply to around 9 tonnes in 2007, although, it remained 11 tonnes from 1967 to 1997. By contrast, the figure for Sweden decreased sharply to roughly 7 tonnes in 1987 and fell steadily to about more than 5 tonnes in 2007, although, it reached a peak of 10.5 tonnes in 1977.
