The bar chart and the line graph illustrates the trend of internet usage by the females in the age group of 12 to over 65 years in the USA during 2000 and 2001.
Overall, a decreasing trend was observed in the usage of internet with an increase in age.
To begin with, it is clearly evident from the graph that in 2001, the young girls used the internet to an extent of just above 90% and it began to decline gradually to reach an internet usage approximately 68% by 36-45 years aged women. The utilization of the internet was maintained at an almost constant rate in case of 46 to 55 year old women. After that, it further reduced to reach a lowest point of 20% usage by old women with 65 and above 65 years old.
In 2001, a trend similar to 2001 was observed with net usage starting at 90% by young girls, which then raised to 100% in teenage girls. The trend kept decreasing to attain just below 80% usage by 46 to 55 year old women. It then plummeted to reach a lowest peak of 30% by the old women of 65 and above 65 years old.
