In the letter:
explain why you were at the restaurant (what event)
describe the problems (the problem)
write about the action you want the manager to take
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the meal that my family had at your restaurant last Sunday, October 7. On that day we were celebrating my daughter's birthday in the circle of both relatives and close friends.
My family has been visiting your restaurant for two years, as the menu includes a great variety of cousins. My daughter has always liked the apple ice-cream cake, so two days before this occasion, I wanted to order it for her. However, the waiters informed me that the chef was sick and would not be able to prepare it. As a solution, they suggested me to replace it with the orange one. Although tt was not her favorite cake, I decided to purchase it, because the absence of a cake could disappoint her.
Oh her birthday, my family and friends arrived to your restaurant. Everything was going as expected, till we tasted the cake. It seemed stale, because everyone felt the smell of rotten eggs. It was so disgusting that my children fell crying. Fortunately, my wife calmed them down quickly, since the noise might have irritated the other guests in the neighboring tables. I called for the manager immediately, but the waiters explained me that he was on vacation and would be available in seven days.
I think that you understand that the unfresh ingredients in the cake ruined my daughter's celebration. You are fortunate that we did not suffer from wood poisoning as a worse consequence. Anyway, I would like you to compensate it with either a full refund or something else. Otherwise, I would have to address to the authority for help.
Yours faithfully,
Tolegen
