The charts illustrate the number of people who were affected by four types of noise pollution in day and night in cities and rural areas in 2007.
The bar charts compare the number of dwellers in the urban and rural areas was disrupted by four different kinds of noise pollution during daytime and nighttime in 2007.
In general, it is clear that residents in the city were more affected by noise than those living in the countryside.
In the daytime, most of the people in both regions suffered from the noise’s traffic, which figures were 64 million in the city and 34 million in the rural region. Likewise, in the nighttime, those people in the urban were two times more affected by this noise than those in the countryside, which were 48 million and 24 million, respectively.
In the remaining types of noise, including the train, aircraft and industry were less significant. In terms of the train, its figure accounted for 10 million in the daytime compared to 8 million of the night, slightly more than 8 million and 6 million in the rural areas respectively. From the perspective of the aircraft and industry, which can be grouped in the number of less than 4 million.
