The report summarises information about the total students in United Kingdom aquiring English language teacher training qualifications in 2007/8 and 2008/9, and percentage of male qualifiers. Table also includes the number of male and female qualifiers seperately. The Qualifications includes two types, TEFL and Cambridge UCLESCELTA and others.
Proportion of male qualifiers is less than 30% in all instances. TEFL Qualifiers are always higher than others.
Although, there is no high increase in total number of Qualifiers in 2008/9 from 2007/8 , percentage of male fell by 2%. Even though there is a dramatic increase in number of qualifiers through Cambridge UCLES CELTA , percentage of male qualifiers fell drastically.
TEFL qualifiers fell by 500 in 2008/9 compared to 2007/8, henceforth , Percentage of male also dropped slightly.
Overall, male qualifiers are always less for English language teachers compared to females and male qualifiers are going on dropping.
