Overall, the population aged 65 will increase at a similar rate in all three countries by 2030. Germany has the highest percentage of people aged 65 in all three years while the UK has the lowest.
To begin, Germany had 20.45% of the population aged 65 in 1988 which is the highest when compared to Canada's 16.32% and the UK with 14.23%. In 2000, Germany's population comprised of 25.32% of 65-year-old citizens. Canada had a similar growth reaching 20.67% in 2000. The UK saw a negligible growth reaching 14.89% in 2000.
By 2030, it is predicted that Germany's percentage will be 30.42%. Canada's proportion of 65-year-old people will be 26.35% which is high when compared to the UK's 20.35% after a predicted growth of nearly 5%.
